Pool Players of The Brooke (PPB) vs Sun City Oro Valley (SCOV)

The PPB would like to thank Sun City Oro Valley’s Billiard Club, Robert Dufur and SCOV’s billiard team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony Cardillo PPB’s Travel Team Captain for organizing this event. On Saturday November 09, 2024 the SCOV’s Travel Team ventured up to HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center for an 8-Ball Team Challenge sponsored by Stone Canyon Painting (Thank you Alex). Tony “The Snake” Cardillo was the tournament director. We were competing on four beautiful 9 foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables for temporary ownership of a traveling bronze plaque that has been in the PPB’s possession since November 2021. Our team was made up of 4, 2 player teams and SCOV also had 4, 2 player teams. The Pool Players of The Brookes’ Billiard Club (PPB) hosted an 8-Ball Singles tournament on Saturday October 26, 2024 in HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center (CRC) Billiards Room. This was the first of five Club Championship 8-Ball Tournament qualifiers. The PPB thanks Oregano’s Italian restaurant and Rich “Hide the Salami” Adinolfi for sponsoring this tournament. The format of this 8-Ball Singles Tournament was double elimination. Tournament Director was Joe Giammarino. The following field of 16 players showed up to compete in the game of 8-Ball singles. Pool Players of The Brooke vs Quail Creek Billiards Club

The Pool Players of The Brooke Billiards Club (PPB) would like to thank Quail Creek (QC) Billiards Club, Travel Team Director Dennis Desmond and their members for the friendly competition, camaraderie and for hosting our billiard club. Thanks also go out to the PPB’s Tony “The Snake” Cardillo for organizing this event. On Saturday Oct 12, 2024 the PPB Billiards Club traveled down to Quail Creek for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We would play in Quail Creek’s billiard room equipped with familiar 9 foot Diamond Pro Am pool tables just like our tables. The PPB teams were Dave Parker/Lowell “8-Ball” Hegg, Tony “The Snake” Cardillo/Randy “Thin Man” Smith, Joe “Ball Breaker” Vidmar /Jack “Crash” Hoverter, and Gary “One Rail” Barlow/Phelps “Montana” L'Hommedieu. The format was simple. Each of our teams would play each of their teams 3 games of 8-Ball with each game worth 1 point for the winning team. There were a total of 48 points in the match. Pool Players of The Brooke’s Ladder Competition

The Pool Players of The Brooke Billiards Club (PPB) held their first Ladder Competition with 26 PPB Members participating. Tony “The Snake” Cardillo implemented and administered the PPB Ladder competition. The main reason for this competition was to increase head to head competition within the PPB Billiard Club. A simple explanation of how this ladder works is that a participant may challenge the person one or two places above them to a four out of seven 8-Ball match. If they win they take that person’s spot in the ladder. The Ladder started on 03/01/2024 and ran until 07/01/2024 when the field was split into two divisions. The “Willie Mosconi” division and the “Minnesota Fats” division. After splitting the field the competition continued within those two divisions until 08/26/2024. When the ladder competition finally ended the top four finishers from each division would be seeded (one plays four and two plays three to start) and compete in separate playoffs to determin

The Pool Players of The Brooke’s Billiards Club (PPB) had an informal singles competition against Sun City Oro Valley sponsored by Red Earth Tile & Stone on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at SCOV. The PPB would like to thank Sun City Oro Valley’s Billiard Club (SCOV), Sean Park and SCOV’s billiard team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, PPB’s Travel Team Captain for organizing this event. The PPB sent 4 players down to SCOV’s Catalina Vista Center for an 8-Ball Singles Challenge. We were competing on two 9 foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables and two 9 foot Brunswick Gold Crowns. Our team consisted of 4 players and SCOV also had 4 players ready to compete. The PPB teams consisted of Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, Dominic “The Doctor” Borland, Joe “Ball Breaker” Vidmar , and Jack “Crash” Hoverter. The PPB would like to thank SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR), Jim Kauffman, and SBR’s billiards team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, friendly competition. On Saturday April 27, 2024 the SBR’s Travel Team ventured down to SaddleBrooke for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We were competing on four 9-foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables for temporary ownership of a Traveling Bronze Plaque that has been in the PPB’s possession since April 22, 2023. The PPB team was made up of 4, 2 player teams and SBR also had 4, 2 player teams.
