The Pool Players of The Brookes’ Billiard Club (PPB) hosted its 50th pool tournament on Saturday January 27, 2024 in HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center (CRC) Billiards Room. Thank you Rancheros Market for sponsoring this tournament to the tune of 6 Gift Cards! The format was double elimination 8-Ball Singles Tournament. Tournament Director was Joe Giammarino. The following field of 16 players showed up to compete in the game of 8-Ball. Senior Olympic Gold for Phelps L’Hommedieu

Tucson Parks and Recreation and Pain Institute of Southern Arizona presents the 39th annual Senior Olympic Festival. This festival is a celebration to promote fitness, health, and an active lifestyle among adults 50 years of age and older. Events include volleyball, billiards, bowling, bridge, racquetball, basketball shoot, pickleball, archery, golf, tennis, horseshoes, badminton, and so much more. On Wednesday January 23, 2024 the 8-Ball competition took place at Pockets Billiards in Tucson. The Pool Players of The Brooke Billiards Club (PPB) had 4 participants competing. Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, Joe “Ball Breaker” Vidmar, Dick “The Visor” Titus and Phelps “Montana” L’Hommedieu. Phelps who was placed in the 80 to 84 years old bracket with 15 other competitors was ready to play! Pool Players of The Brooke (PPB) vs Voyager Billiard Club

The Pool Players of The Brooke’s Billiards Club (PPB) would like to thank Voyager’s Billiard Club, Ted Beery and Voyager’s billiard team for their cue skills, camaraderie, friendly competition and a cordial luncheon at Roadrunner Grill after the 8-Ball challenge. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, PPB’s Travel Team Captain for organizing this event. On Saturday January 13, 2024 the Voyager’s Travel Team ventured over to SaddleBrooke’s Catalina Recreation Center for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We were competing on four nine foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables for temporary ownership of a traveling bronze plaque. The PPB has had possession of the plaque since January 13, 2023. PPB’s team was made up of four, two player teams and Voyager also had four, two player teams. Our teams consisted of Fred “The Baker” Dianda and Gary “One Rail” Barlow, Dominic “The Doctor” Borland and Joe “Ball Breaker” Vidmar, Phelps “Montana” L'Hommedieu and Joe “Fast Eddie” G
