Pool Players of The Brooke (PPB) vs SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR)

     The PPB would like to thank SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR), Jim Kauffman, Cliff Terry and SBR’s billiards team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, friendly competition and a congenial luncheon at the RoadRunner Grill after the 8-Ball Challenge.  Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony “The Snake” Cardillo PPB Travel Team Captain for organizing this event.   On Saturday August 20, 2022 the SBR’s Travel Team ventured down to SaddleBrooke for an 8-Ball Team Challenge.  We were competing on four beautiful 8 foot Connelly pool tables for temporary ownership of a traveling bronze plaque that has been in the PPB’s possession for a few years.  The PPB team was made up of 4, 2 player teams and SBR also had 4, 2 player teams.   The PPB teams consisted of Joe “Fast Eddie” Giammarino and Gary “One Rail” Barlow, Dominic “The Doctor” Borland and Phelps “Frnchfry” L'Hommedieu, Tony “The Snake” Cardillo and Jack “Crash” Hoverter, Lowell “8-Ball” Hegg and Joe “Ball Breaker” Vi

    The Pool Players of The Brooke Billiards Club want to thank our sponsors Secure Senior Health Solutions - Leah Kari ( 520) 484-3807 and Stone Canyon Painting - Alex Stewart 520 780-4122.   On Saturday July 30, 2022 the PPB Billiards Club hosted an 8-Ball Singles Tournament in HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center (CRC) Billiards Room.   The format double elimination.      Tournament Directors were Randy Smith and Joe Giammarino with Ron Ridge manning the brackets.  Great job gentlemen!   The following field of 14 players showed up to compete in the game of 8-Ball.   Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, Jack “Crash” Hoverter, Randy “Thin Man” Smith, Joe “Fast Eddie” Giammarino, Dick Dunbar, Terrence “The Cue” Sterling, Mike “Mayhem” Meredith, Lowell “8-Ball” Hegg, Phelps “Frnchfry” L'Hommedieu.      The Pool Players of The Brooke Billiards Club (PPB) want to thank all the participants in the 8-Ball Scotch Doubles Tournament.   On Saturday June 25, 2022 the PPB Billiards Club hosted an 8-Ball Scotch Doubles Tournament in HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center (CRC) Billiards Room.   The format was double elimination.   Tournament Directors were Ron Ridge with Joe Giammarino on the brackets.  Great job gentlemen!   The field of players was split into two groups.   Group “A” consisted of players who have not taken the Skills Rating and members who have taken the Skill Rating and scored 25 or less.   Group “B” consisted of Members that scored above 25 on the Skill Rating.   Using a blind draw we drew one player from the “B’ Group and one player from the “A” group to make up a partner team.   After the draw the 10 teams were as follows:    Dick Dunbar/Les Goins, Fred “The Baker” Dianda/Julie “Cutter” Ferguson, Dick “The Visor” Titus/Rich Adinolfi, Tony “The Snake” Cardillo/Dick “The
