Pool Players of The Brooke Travel Team

PPB Travel Team: Fred Dianda, Joe Giammarino, Tom Barrett, Dominic Borland, Ron Ridge, Jim Fabio, Karl Knight (Ranch), Gary Barlow.
On  Monday March 19, 2018 the Pool Players of The Brooke Travel Team sponsored by W & W Physical Therapy went to Sun City Vistoso (The Views) to play against the Sun City Oro Valley Billiards Club for possession of a personalized Travel Plaque.  Our four teams consisted of: Dominic "The Doctor" Borland & Ron “Dblo7” Ridge, Jim “Shooter" Fabio & Karl “English” Knight (Ranch), Fred "The Baker" Dianda and Tom “Blind Squirrel” Barrett, and Gary “One Rail” Barlow and Joe “Fast Eddie" Giammarino.

   After 4 hours and 48 games of 1 - 15 8-Ball Partners, the match ended up in a tie at 24 for PPB and 24 for Sun City Vistoso.  So we brought the plaque home because they would have to win the match to take possession of the plaque.  The plaque is coming home due to the final game performance by Ron Ridge and Dominic Borland who won the last game to tie the match.  We then went to La Hacienda for lunch and a beer or two.  Thanks to Dominic and Gary Barlow for setting up this match for the PPB Travel Team. 

   The Pool Players of The Brooke want to thank W & W Physical Therapy our sponsor, Sun City Oro Valley Billiards Club and Jim Baker for hosting this event.  You gentleman are a fun, competitive group of pool players who were very gracious.  We also discussed another contest in the future.  That is a good day!  Rack'em Up!

Pool Players of The Brooke (PPB) vs SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR)

The PPB would like to thank SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR), Jim Kauffman, and SBR’s billiards team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, friendly competition. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony “The Snake” Cardillo PPB Travel Team Captain for organizing this event. On Saturday April 27, 2024 the SBR’s Travel Team ventured down to SaddleBrooke for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We were competing on four 9-foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables for temporary ownership of a Traveling Bronze Plaque that has been in the PPB’s possession since April 22, 2023. The PPB team was made up of 4, 2 player teams and SBR also had 4, 2 player teams. The PPB teams consisted of Joe “Fast Eddie” Giammarino and Jack “Crash” Hoverter, Phelps “Montana” L'Hommedieu and Fred “The Baker” Dianda, Tony “The Snake” Cardillo and Dave Parker, Dominic “The Doctor” Borland and Gary “One Rail” Barlow. Pool Players of The Brooke’s Travel Team – Perfection!

     The Pool Players of The Brooke (PPB) Travel Team started by Dominic “The Doctor” Borland one of the PPB’s Founders, previous Vice President (twice), and the only Travel Team Director the PPB has had.   The PPB Travel Team began competitions on October 29, 2016 at Mission Royale in Casa Grande Arizona where the PPB defeated Mission Royale 30 to 18.   This was the start to a 6 year long run of competitions headed up by Dominic Borland.   In the past 6 years the PPB Travel Team competed 20 times against the following communities:   Green Valley Recreation, Sun City Vistoso, Quail Creek, SaddleBrooke Ranch, Sun Lakes in Maricopa County, Mission Royale, and Sunflower in Marana.      Our Travel Team is made up of any PPB member who wants to compete against other communities.
