The Pool Players of The Brookes’ Billiard Club (PPB) wants to thank our Travel Team Director Tony Cardillo for putting this competition together. On Saturday September 9, 2023 the PPB Billiards Club hosted an 8-Ball Singles Round Robin Tournament in HOA1’s Catalina Recreation Center (CRC) Billiards Room. The PPB was tentatively scheduled to play SaddleBrooke Ranch’s Billiard Club but they could not coral enough members to make the date. So Tony decided to hold a Round Robin 8-Ball Tournament instead. The format was each participant would play every other participant one game of 8-Ball. We had 10 participants so everyone would play 9 games of 8-Ball. The following field of 10 players showed up to compete in the game of 8-Ball. The PPB would like to thank SaddleBrooke Ranch Billiards Club (SBR), Jim Kauffman, and SBR’s billiards team for their pool table prowess, camaraderie, friendly competition and a congenial luncheon at the Agave Lounge after the 8-Ball Challenge. Another big THANK YOU goes out to Tony “The Snake” Cardillo PPB Travel Team Captain for organizing this event. On Saturday July 8, 2023 the SBR’s Travel Team ventured down to SaddleBrooke for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We were competing on four 8-foot Connelly pool tables for temporary ownership of a Traveling Bronze Plaque that has been in the PPB’s possession since April, 22, 2023. The PPB team was made up of 4, 2 player teams and SBR also had 4, 2 player teams. On Tuesday May 10, 2023 the PPB’s Travel Team ventured down to SCOV’s Catalina Vista Center for an 8-Ball Team Challenge. We were competing on two 9 foot Diamond Pro-Am pool tables and two 9 foot Brunswick Gold Crowns. This travel match was not for the Traveling Bronze Plaque it was just for fun, filling in some down time from our regular Travel Team schedule while the snowbirds are gone.
